Legal Question in Family Law in West Virginia

Alimony, Child Support - Arrearages

Are my alimony and child support arrearages considered debts ''for the life'' of the obliger?

In other words, will my heirs be entitled to the amounts due plus interest, if the obliger is

ever locatable and able to pay after my death as the custodial parent? The current total

owed to me is approximately $30k and this increases monthly with current and past due

alimony, past due child support, and interest

Re: Alimony, Child Support - Arrearages

Your heirs can collect your back alimony. The child support can be collected by the children for whom it was to be paid.
