Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in West Virginia

Punishment For Failure To Appear

I would like to know the maximum punishment for failure to appear, for a juvinile the age of 17, he was to appear for breaking his probation and getting intoxicated. He was told he had to go to detox for 30 days and after this he would go back on probation. Thirty days after his release from detox he was sent a letter stateing that he had to return to court for breaking probation anyway. His attorney wrote him and told him he was going to sent away until his 18th birthday. And this scared him, so he didn't appear in court the judge issued a Capias warrant.

Re: Punishment For Failure To Appear

The officers will pick him up and it wll worse for him than if he simply did what he was supposed to do. He should turn himself in and/or get an attorney THEN turn himself in. Stop fooling around: part of being an adult is dealing with things in an adult fashion.
