Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in West Virginia

sexual harrassment

I am a college student and I heard, along with 20 or so classmates, a male professor ask a female student if she was engaged (pointing at a diamond ring on her finger). She replied, ''no, I was married over summer break''. The professor then said, ''so you must be getting lots of sex?'' She did not respond and all the students could see her embarassment. A few of us filed a formal complaint to the college about the incident and after careful review, the college said the professor's teaching technique (comment) was based on ''appropriate pedagogical objectives relating to course content'' and recommended that all complaints be dismissed. This took place during a business management class. Is this sexuall harrasment as defined by law?

How this comment becomes OK is beyond me, so you might consider putting it in the newspaper with a petition, go SouthPark on his ***.

You can boycott the profs class, all sorts of mish mash that...oh, I don't know HIPPYS used to get up to to make a point.

If it's THAT acceptable, then maybe the entire community wouldn't mind hearing about it.

Shift the embarrassment to where it belongs.
