Chapter 7 and Foreclosure Consequences

Either one has terrible credit consequences; although a foreclosure is worse from the point of view of ever being able get another mortgage loan. If you send me a private e-mail, my office can quickly send you a good deal of detailed reading material about both--free of charge. Surrendering a home requires the lender to accept a deed in lieu of foreclosure. Not all lenders are willing to do this. A chapter 13 bankruptcy can prevent a foreclosure from ever being started if it is not too late for you (and if you follow the courts orders to continue your normal mortgage payments plus a chapter 13 trustee payment).
