Legal Question in Construction Law in Wisconsin

I live in Dane County. I have a large property that can not be divided because it is less than 35 acres. My question is, can I add a guest house to my property? If I can not add a separate building can I add an addition to my home?

Call your town hall for the answer to this question. They have the local zoning maps available, which may or may not allow second dwellings on existing properties, or expansion of existing ones. The expansion of an existing dwelling on a large lot is probably allowed, but you will need to confirm this as well, and get a building permit first. Review of the project, including all construction contracts, by an experienced local real estate lawyer is always a good idea, however.
