Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin

Hey guys i got some questions and anybody with experience plz help me out. I was at a party and the cops came, they seen my face and took down license plate numbers and also yelled your going to jail if you run. My girlfriend who was scared gave the cop her phone and the cop searched it ( for about 5 mins.) and called me (she shouldnt of i know, he seen me standing by her) and left me a message. Everyone at the party didnt know me since it was a friend out of town (20 mins. away) and my buddies who did know me said that i wasnt there (my name wasnt given the cops jst assume it was me). The voicemail was a threat that there is going to be an arrest warrant out for me if i dont turn myself in. Is this a scare tactic or will they seriously try to prove i was there and build a case? Should i call an attorney? Thanks

You may very well have turned a simple case into a much more serious case by fleeing an officer when they instructed you to stop. As a general rule, when faced with a minor misdemeanor charge, fleeing will only make things much worse. If you did leave, chances that a warrant issued based on a criminal complaint are very good.
