Legal Question in DUI Law in Wisconsin

I was arrested last week for driving while intoxicated in Wisconsin (Bac .16). I am from Maryland. It is my first time ever getting arrested for anything. I have had 2 speeding tickets, with the last one being 3 years ago. I am wondering what to expect from this. My citation says that I need to appear. Is it possible to not have to? Thanks for any information you can provide.
