name change

ex daughter in law has remarried and changed my grandaughters name to new husbands without permission from father. can she do this? for example on school records.

If she has done it, the answer to the question

of "can she do it" is obviously "yes". Was

she supposed to do it is a better question.

Like in most situations, if a party (such as

the father) does not assert legal rights

in court, the rights may well be ignored. If

the father's parental rights have been terminated,

the mother is free to change a child's name.
