Final Adoption hearing

What happens at the final adoption hearing? We are waiting on our court date and have had our adoption approved.

Re: Final Adoption hearing

Assuming you have already gotten termination of

parental rights done, etc., the final court hearing

is generally a very pleasant meeting where the judge

merely takes testimony from your social worker that

you are fitting parents and that the adoption is in

the best interests of the child. Most judges schedule

many at the same time and call them in the order

of the youngest child first. That gets the children

most unable to handle the wait out first. Most

judges are willing to pose for a picture with the

new family after the hearing. The court reporters

usually are willing to take the shot! Good luck!
