Legal Question in Family Law in Wisconsin

legal rights of parents to kick 17 year old out of the house

our 17 year old son has been in various trouble over the past year. while not serious from a legal standpoint, the many issues and lack of control we have over his behavior has us wondering if by wi. law we are within our rights to boot him from our home.

I don't know Wisconsin law but in Montana parents don't have a right to abdicate their legal resposibilities as parents. You can have him cited as ungovernable and let youth court do oversight -- they put him on a tight rein and he stays in the court system until the court decides to terminate its oversight. The court in a case I was involved in retained jurisdiction over a 16 year old until he was 25. It's a very serious choice to make, and can have serious ill effects or major benefits, depending on the case.
