Expungement of Arrest Record if No Conviction for Unfounded Sexual Assault Charges Resulting in Acquittal

You should consult with an experienced criminal lawyer immediately, since there may eventually be a way for you to petition for removal of this record and even obtain destruction of your fingerprints records, assuming that you were totally exonerated of all charges and have no other criminal history. If the charges were voluntarily dropped by the government pending continued investigation, however, you may have a problem, since the charges can be reinstated at any time during the first six years.
