Legal Question in Immigration Law in Wisconsin

visa

dear sir, Iam an Indian citizen, at present on a J1 visa in USA (from past four months). There is a a local nursing home here which told me that they have a 2 weeks nurses' aid training course after which they will take us for the job in their own nursing home. So I wanna persue that course and join as a nurse helper in that nursing home. Since Iam on a J1 visa in horticulture training field my visa may not allow me to take that training. So can I go back to India and again come back to US on a student visa just for a short term (2 weeks) training and then continue my stay in US with nurse aid job? Even they told me that they will pay my college fees to do a nursing batchelor degree in case I want to persue a degree. So I want to persue a nursing degree while working as a nursing aid. My present qualification is 10+2 in India. So Iam just trying to find how can I proceed with this. Can I change my visa status without going back to India? I request you to guide me in this matter and I will be very thankful for your kind help. Thank you.

Re: visa

The best way to go is for apply for J1 visa waiver because you have two year residency requirement and then apply for change of status. If you go back to India...chances will be slim for you to come back in student visa.
