Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Wisconsin

Permission to use company names in listings or maps

I want to market a map listing bed and breakfast sites. It will include the name and city of each business. I've built a list of bed and breakfast's via the internet. Since my intent is commercial gain, am I required to obtain the approval of each business I intend to include? Note: I'm not trying to form any relationship with these businesses, not I am trying to sell them anything. They get free advertising, I get a map to sell to tourists.

I can't imagine that any business would object to

free advertising on your site, as long as you limit

yourself to information which they themselves publicize

in their own advertising. Such materials would clearly

be in the public domain in any event. On the other

hand, it never hurts to ask. You might even get an

enthusiastic response.
