A 17-year old has the right to request emancipation from the court in many states. You might want to spend 30-minutes with a local lawyer. It's $50 - $100 well spent.

Try to work it out with your parents so that you can live with grandma, but recognize that grandma has raised her children. You would be a burden on her that she didn't plan for. If you don't get on with your parents, make sure you can follow grandma's rules, before leaving their house for hers.

If you do, make sure that grandma is capable of taking care of you and has the right to make medical and other decisions. Otherwise, if you get hurt, they will have to contact your parents to get permission to help you, and that's a lot for a grandparent to have to deal with.

My strong suggestion is (in the absence of abuse) to find a mediator, and work this out by agreement, rather than running away.
