Forcing a resignation.

Can an employer force you to give a resignation letter to them rather than just fire you? Hired knowing I am a college student and worked at company over 1 year going to classes all of a sudden they can't work school into my schedule and they are asking me to quit.

Re: Forcing a resignation.

An employer cannot force you to quit and then avoid unemployment compensation. If you are fired, you are entitled to unemployment as long as you remain available to and look for work.
