Re: claim negotiation

My assumption is that you were injured in an accident that was someone else's fault and that the insurer for that other person is the entity you would like to pay for your medical expenses and lost wages. Depending upon the facts of the accident, namely, whether or not there is clear liability, an insurer may, occasionally, make advance payments. If the liability is not clear, it is unlikely that the insurer will make such payments. It does not hurt to ask. You may do better financially to have a lawyer represent your interests. The usual statute of limitations for personal injury claims for accidents happening in Wisconsin is three years from the date of injury.
