Re: Slip and fall

I would suggest getting any medical care that you need to obtain for your injuries. If you are unable to get in phone contact with the owner, I would suggest sending him a letter or getting a letter to him advising him of your fall. There may be both medical expense coverage and liability coverage available to you to pay for your medical expenses and other damages if the property owner had insurance coverage on the property, however, certain facts may dictate whether you can recover money for your injuries and damages. Try to obtain photos of the area where you fell and also make sure that you get information from anyone who may have been a witness. Please be aware that there is a three year statute of limitations in WI which requires you to eiether settle your claims or start a lawuist within three years from the date of your fall. If you do not settle your claims or start a lawsuit within that time, you will not be able to recover any money for any injuries and damages which you may have sustained. If this was property owned by a city, county or the State of WI, there are other notice requirements which you also need to satisfy within 120 days from the date of your injury. I would urge you to consult an attorney as soon as possible to discuss these and other potential issues relating to your claim.
