i am recently divorced with a large tax debt with the IRS. if i were to remarry in the state of wisconsin, would my new husband be legally responsible for any of the debt?

No, you alone are liable. However, if you file a joint return with your new husband, the IRS will take any refund. Your new husband will have to file an "innocent spouse claim." You should both talk to a tax attorney before you "tie the knot."
