Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wyoming

Police identification?

I am curious, When must a police officer admit to being an officer if asked directly? Can the officer lie and say he is not a cop, or even if someone is an agent of the police can he/she lie and claim not being an agent/cop (Wyoming criminal law)?

Re: Police identification?

It is not illegal for a police officer to lie to a citizen. It is done all the time. In certain cases it is a serious crime for a citizen to lie to a law enforcement officer. The rules are not the same for citizens as for government officials. They should be, but they are not thanks to years of conservative politics.
