Filming of high school/choir music concerts

Is it legal to video tape choral/instrumental concerts performed by a high school or college band or choir?

If the works are not in the public domain (i.e., generally composed before 1923), then this is a technical violation of copyright. You should consult with a copyright lawyer if you are concerned about potential liability.
