Re: Custody problems with non custodial parent

First, take to the law enforcement agency where your ex-husband lives, a certified copy of your divorce decree, or whatever document awarded you custody and the child's father's visitation. They should be able to help you retrieve your child.

If that does not work, and even if it does, you may petition the court for its Order finding the child's father in contempt and requiring he pay your costs in retrieving your child. You may wish to request the Court, at the same time, Order altered (perhaps supervised) visition.

So you will not be surprised, the Court proceeding is fairly complicated and may take some time. If law enforcment is unwilling or unable to assist you, you should start court action as soon as possible so you may obtain a Court Ordeer finding him in contempt and ordering your child's return.

Best wishes.
