Legal Question in Family Law in Wyoming

Dna

My ex girlfriend just had a baby and says the baby is mine. She wont go to child support so I can file for a DNA test. I called and tried to get a DNA test on my own but they said, it had to be a legal matter...is there anything I can do?

Re: Dna

If you want to avoid the legal process you can go to Walgreens and buy a DNA test kit. I believe it is about $50-$60. You would need access to the child.

You can also begin an action through child support authority just as easily as the mother can. Child Support Authority will do all of the paperwork to establish paternity, however they will also establish a support payment and money due from you if they determine that you are the father. Better to find out now and begin payments immediately then find out years from now and get hit for thousands of dollars in back child support.
