Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Wyoming

Damage to yard due to negligence of neighbors

I had neighbors who built a home next to me. This past fall they hauled in a bunch of topsoil, and stated they were going to put in sod. They did not go through with the sod. My yard is landscaped all of rock and trees. The wind blows here directly out of the west, and all of their topsoil is now on my yard. It is a complete mess. Do I have a claim against them legally so that I may repair my yard to its original state before they moved in. I have attempted contacting them, and they simply ignore me. Is it my problem, or can I pursue them in court?

Re: Damage to yard due to negligence of neighbors

Those who create or maintain a nuisance on their land which injures an adjacent land owner are legally responsible for the damages the nuisance causes. A court action is the last resort when all attempts at a peaceful settlement have failed.
