Attorney Jay K. Nixon represents people cited for drunk driving or other traffic offenses, people charged with crimes(including federal crimes) or those seeking protection from creditors in bankruptcy and civil litigation. He also practices as a mediator and arbitrator in international disputes as well as local ones. He was admitted to the Wisconsin Bar in 1980, and is a former Wisconsin state prosecutor. Since 1984, he has done only criminal defense work. He has tried over 80 jury trials to final verdict and also served as Chapter 7 panel bankruptcy trustee for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. He has handled over 3,000 bankruptcy matters and continues to serve as a member of the reserve bankruptcy trustee panel. His memberships include the International Bar Association, Wisconsin Bar Association, Seventh Circuit Federal Bar and is former Chair of the Wisconsin Bar's Committee on Group and Prepaid Legal Services.
