Comments: From 1997 through early 2007, Craig J. Tiedemann was groomed and trained by 2 of Boston's largest and most prestigious "Big Firms," where he gained extensive, invaluable experience handling complex business disputes for sophisticated companies of all shapes and sizes, and individuals with important, complicated problems.

During his decade in the "Big Firms," Craig's practice emphasized construction litigation, involving projects ranging from Boston's infamous "Big Dig" and the Logan International Airport renovations, to routine public and private project construction disputes, both commercial and residential.

For four years running - 2005, 2006, 2007 & 2008 - Craig has been voted one of Boston's "Rising Stars" and "Super Lawyers" by Boston Magazine and Law & Politics, distinctions conferred on less than 2.5% of attorneys. The awards are especially notable because the voting was by opposing counsel, judges who observed Craig on his feet in their courtrooms, and others unaffiliated with those they nominate.

The award is well-earned. Craig has extensive trial experience - lead trial counsel in every case - including several lengthy Superior Court trials and one in District Court. Craig won his clients the full amount of damages they sought in every single trial but one. Craig just did it again; winning another jury verdict for the full contract amount after a multi-day trial this past spring.

Craig has also tried criminal cases. During his Big Firm years Craig was loaned to the District Attorney's Office, where he tried 14 criminal cases to verdict. Craig's "win-rate" was higher than the office average.

Craig left the "Big Firm" lifestyle behind to launch Tiedemann Law Firm, where he now provides clients the same thorough, sophisticated service he always has, but at far more reasonable rates. TLF is a niche litigation practice, providing clients the unique advantage of bringing "Big Firm" thinking and firepower to business and personal problems, both sophisticated and routine.

Craig contributed to (and received attribution for) Cam Kerry's scholarly article in the Massachusetts Law Review, called, "Unpacking the Massachusetts Preliminary Injunction Standard," 90 Mass. L. Rev. 160 (2007). Craig also authored a Law Review article at 31 New Eng. L. Rev 605 (1997).

Craig was counsel in a reported MA Supreme Judicial Court case (434 Mass. 698 (2001), where Craig's client's position carried the day in the complicated dispute. Also, the MA Appeals Court recently affirmed a jury verdict in favor of one of Craig's long-time construction clients - in a case of first impression - after a hard-fought 9-day jury trial in the Superior Court. The decision, P.T. Corporation v. National Amusements, Inc., 67 Mass. App. Ct. 1121; 859 N.E.2d 457 (2006), is the lone MA authority on the novel construction issue involved.

Tiedemann Law Firm is for those who see value in having a strategic litigation advantage and a highly experienced, well-rounded, hard-working and passionate advocate to carry it out. Craig Tiedemann and his firm provide clients thoughtful, effective solutions for the immediate need, but always with an eye toward the longer and larger view.
