  • Law office of E. Brian Davis
My practice emphasizes criminal defense, especially federal criminal defense, bankruptcy (mostly debtor representation), and general civil litigation. Some background is in order: I graduated from Duke Law School in 1982. I then clerked for an appellate court judge, followed by five+ years in private practice (emphasis on bankruptcy, civil litigation, and commercial law). I then joined the United States Attorney's office in Louisville. Most of my time with that office, 1989 to 1996, was spent prosecuting white collar crimes. I served as the chief of the white collar crime unit for three years, then as the office's Senior Litigation Counsel, followed by a stint as the chief of the (Civil) Financial Litigation Section. In July, 1996, I returned to private practice. Although I am a sole practitioner, I share office space with a firm with 5 other attorneys, with whom I regularly work on appropriate matters. My Louisville, Kentucky office is conveniently located near the intersection of Breckenridge Lane and the Watterson Expressway. I am admitted to practice in all federal and state courts in both the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the State of Indiana, as well as the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Sixth, Seventh, and Federal Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court.

I was admitted to practice law in Kentucky in 1976. I have since been admitted to practice in the following courts:Supreme Court of the United States (1982); U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit (1981); U.S. District Court, Western District of Kentucky (1977); U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (1984).
