Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

My father bought a plot of 60x40 in 1966 and built a house in 1968. The neighbour behind, built a compound wall encroaching 150 sq feet into our plot. My father did nothing apart from verbal request to remove the wall. Neighbour does not want to remedy the situation. The plot was transferred to me in year 2014. Can I, as on date, file a case against my neighbour (his son is the owner of the plot behind since year 2002) to reclaim the encroached area of 150 sq feet? Or, is there nothing I can do in view of the law of limitation 1963?, SC judgements, etc. Please advice.

in case the area is encroached and you hold the registery of that area as well, you may get the encroachment removed by appropriate court orders. however, one needs to go thorugh the documents to suggest future course of action.
