i have defaulted on a credit card taken when I was in dubai , i left dubai in 2008 , since then i have been repaying but once when I asked for a statement , i was told i shall be given one next month but they did not sent one,. So i stopped paying.

today i received a call from a person claiming to be Delhi Police SI saying that i have a non bailable arrest warrant , and havent i received the notice issued by the court. also he gave an advocates name whom I should contact. when contacted was put on conference with a person claiming to be a bank official,.

Can the foreign bank through Indian court intiate such action. 2. If am willing to pay which i always intended to, can I ask for time period for doing the same due to paucity of funds.

Dear Sir / Madam,

First and foremost, do not heed to verbal telephonic conversations as you can be tricked. If the person asks whether you have received the legal notice, specifically deny it and ask that the same be sent to you, for the simple reason that you need to know the amount outstanding, the monthly EMI in Rupees, the bank who is acting as the agent of the principal bank in Dubai and other facts which need to be authentic and genuine. You can safely reply to the legal notice thereafter.

Regards,
