Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Ireland

I am disputing costs being charged to me by the company we hired for our

International move recently. We are disputing the amount they charged us do to issues with the events that delayed our move by 6 days. Recently they charged my account for more than what was invoiced without my authorization. I contacted the bank and my money was returned. The moving company is now turning it over to their corporate atty and threatening to put a lien on my passport. I fully intent to pay them for the original amount quoted however we have asked for them to take this issue to their higher up and they haven't responded with a resolution. Can they put a lien on my passport until this is resolved?

Dear Sir,

It is impossible to put a "lien" on your passport in a commercial dispute.

Threatening to do so is flagrant bullying...

Best maybe best to get a lawyer to contact that company on your behalf.

Kind regards,
