Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

my father is having so much of debt....

I am his eldest son, age 19 years

i want to ask u will the debt of my father pass on me after his death??

we stay in India

and we do not have any asset to pay off such huge debts

my mother is a housewife

we dont even have a house owned

we stay on rent

Dear Sir,

Normally, legal heirs remain liable to settle debts of the parent, unless specifically absolved thereof in the agreement.
