Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

Hi,I have been served a notice by my bank for credit card default and hearing is scheduled, the question is can I request a settlement with the claimant(attorney) directly or do I have to be present at the arbitration court and weather or not I will be provided with a option for settlement plus can I go to hearing without a lawyer and lastly how severe can the ruling be by the judge if I'm present at the hearing or its decided by ex parte is there a possibility I can go to jail

Thank you

Dear Sir / Madam,

Yes, you can certainly attend the hearing in person without an Advocate / lawyer and request a settlement with the Bank and if the date of hearing is far away, you can directly settle the matter with the Bank and close the case. The Court verdict which may or may not involve imprisonment depends on the gravity and severity of the issue.
