Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

Hello. I am a Canadian living in Canada but was dating a British man until recently. We dated for a year, then I met him in India 2 years ago and I bought a Royal Enfield motorcycle for myself and had it rebuilt in Manali. We travelled northern India for 5 weeks, him on a rented bike. I came back to Canada and agreed he could borrow my bike while he stayed in India for another month. He agreed to sell it and bring me the money. I left the bike, keys and papers with him.

He later claimed he was not able to sell it but left it with a family he knew, in Rishikesh. When we ended our relationship last August, I insisted he tell me the whereabouts of my bike. He sent me an email saying it was with a family in New Delhi and that he had no contact info. He then cut off all contact with me. I managed to track down my bike (by sending many emails) in Rishikesh. The man who has it is confused because he knew my ex-boyfriend but had never heard of me. I sent him a picture of my bike's license plates and the plates match the bike he has. He said he had to hear it from my ex-boyfriend that it was MY bike and not his. After this email I have not heard back from him either, though I have emailed him. My question is: how can I get my motorcycle back?

if you bought the bike, the registration will be in your name only and if this is the case, i dont see any problem for you in getting the same back. From your mail, it seems the bike is not sold and is kept in safe custody.
