Yes, the photo you have may be used as a proof, even though your own version is sufficient without providing any proof at this stage. You should write narrative of the instances of cruelty / violence giving all possible details and file the complaint with local police by sending a copy to higher authorities [in some places known as SUPERINTENDENT OF POLICE; and in some places known as COMMISSIONER OF POLICE] by registered post.

The complaint may be made against all such persons who may be guilty of the offence, including your husband's relatives.

You may also like to pursue appropriate remedies under the Prevention of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005.
