Legal Question in Family Law in Pakistan

Hi...

Two years back I got married and exactly after 2 months over a little argue with my mother in law... my husband sent me back home. They didn't let me take a single thing of my dowry and he didn't even give me my haq mehar.

Then he went court and filed a case that he wants to live with me and I am the one who actually left him. I hired a lawyer and replied that I want to live with you but I want a separate home. I never once denied in a court that I don't want to live with him.

Now he sent me a divorce in which he wrote that there was no dowry at all from my side and he paid me the haq mehar... and I am.the one who asked for a divorce so he is giving me. I never asked for a divorce. He just wants to harm my reputation and ruin my family's name.

Can I file a case against him for damaging my honour and lying about it ??? Can I ask court to force him to change his statement on divorce paper and give a new divorce paper stating the truth ? Also I want writ ten apology from him.

Is there any law regarding this in pakistan? ?? Please help.

Dear Sara

Yes you can file and you cam also force him for changing statement. You have good case.

And your statement in family court is also good defence in your case. You must file a case. He will be punished and sent to jail if you prove.
