Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Trinidad and Tobago

My step dad and mom were married for 18 yrs. He and my mom raised me since I was age7 until I was 25. He has no biological children and I am my mother's only child. After he and my mom divorced our relationship was strained but we still kept in touch and he was still a part of my life. As a part of the divorce their property was divided 50/50. He passed away a few years ago without leaving a Will. Is his family now entitled to his half of the property? As his step child do I have any claim to his estate.

The answer is no. The issue of property was settled when your mom and stepdad separated.

His family is entitled to his estate in the absence of a will.
