Legal Question in Business Law in Alabama

Selling sports betting information on the internet

I have been running a free web page of my own college and NFL picks. I would like to start charging people for handicapping sports. I know they have people who do this. Is it legal to do it outside of areas where sports gambling is not legal such as Alabama? I've seen other sights that do the same thing. Is it legal to start a business in Alabama that does this?

Handicapper's web site

I cannot say for sure, esp. in regard to Alabama's laws, but offhand I don't think your site is involved in eitherthe practice of "gaming" (a legal term for gambling) nor, with disclaimers anyway, the aiding / abetting (no pun intended) thereof. Here's a clue, though. If the sites you see are from Nevada, where gambling is legalized, thenI may be mistaken.

If you're going to spend the effort to set up credit card collection et al. on the site, you ought to at least call alocal atty to get his opinion.
