Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Alabama

Loss of automobile

We had taken our truck for repairs in November. At the time we picked up the truck which was November 14, 2005, we had a three month guarantee that the truck was fixed. On the next day,. we took it back. The mechanic kept the truck until March 29, 2006 at which time there was a fire at the place of business. Our truck was almost totally destroyed. The place of business had no insurance. What can we do to get compensation for our truck? Also, a former employee tried to save the truck, but was handcuffed and taken to jail by our city police officers. The reason for the arrest was that he was interferring with government business. The individual said he could have saved at least three of the vehicles before the fire ever got to them. Is there any thing we can do about this situation?
