Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Alabama

ive recently bought a car from a co-worker of my brother's, only to find out that the title to the car was not only pawned, but he hasnt paid on it since january of this year. ive also been informed that its illegal in the state of alabama to sell a vehicle without a title. what can i do to keep the car from being taken from me and get him to handle his buisiness with the pawn shop? and , is there a way for me to get the title without having to deal with this guy anymore?

You are going to have to file a lawsuit. In short, the car was not his to sell. He did sell it to you, and may have (depending on what your bill of sale says) warranted that he had title and was obliged to deliver the title to you.

You should demand your money back, plus something for your trouble. If not, sue him.
