Legal Question in Personal Injury in Alabama

My 85 year old Mother-in-law went to the eye doctor for an examination. Her eyes were dilated for the exam. After exiting the doctor's office in her electric wheelchair to catch a ride back home on the local rural area transportation bus, she did not see the curb in front of the doctor's office and drove her wheelchair off the curb, resulting in a nasty spill, requiring a trip to the emergency room and stitches in her forehead, nose and hand. My wife had to take off work to attend to her mother. Is there a case here?

Potentially yes - if allowing your grandmother to leave in a wheelchair after having her eyes dilated breached the applicable standard of care.
