Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Alabama

How can I find out if my father had a will? He had property, that was taken over by my cousins because they were caring for my father when he went to a nursing home. His children all live out of state. I was told by my father that the land would belong to his children which is me and my sisters, The other grand children already recieved there portion of the property after my grandma died years ago. I would like to know if our names was on the deed along with my father, and if there was a will since my cousin says the land was willed to them? Please help I live in Illinois. My dad passed away 8/20/11, The deed was changed over in 2/11 the same month he went into hospice.

You need to hire a lawyer who works in the Probate area of the law in the county where your dad had his real estate. Tell him or her this story and see what it will cost you to get answers. This is way beyond the ability of a non-lawyer. Be prepared to pay some money to get this resolved.
