Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Alabama

I live in al. my mother passed away .We have joint bank account . I have right of survivalship.My brother is executor of the will.they are wanting me to sign a wavier for me to give up the account.This does not seem right.What do you think?

In general, if you are a joint owner on the account, you have a right to the funds in that account. They are not part of the estate. They pass "outside" the probate process and are not controlled by her will.
