Legal Question in Criminal Law in Alaska

Restoration of rights lost with felony conviction.

As I understand the federal and state laws that have been explained to me somewhat vaguely, once someone is convicted of an offense that can be categorized as a felony, regardless of the type, degree or seriousness, one automatically looses or the court revokes, several of their rights or privileges, IE: the right to vote and the right to own a firearm etc... My question is, once this individual has fulfilled any probation or sentence requirement imposed by the court, is there any procedural legal recourse that this individual can persue which will restore these rights and or privileges? Thanks.

Re: Restoration of rights lost with felony conviction.

The only action which can restore a convicted felon's civil rights is a gubernatorial or presidential pardon, regardless of the nature of the felony.
