Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Arizona

should I file bankruptcy?

I have a family of five and we have lived in an apartment for 6 years because of credit problems. I would like to get a house for my children but do not know if it will hurt me in the future.

I also have a student loan from 1989, which I was not able to complete the school. What are the laws regarding loans?

I would appreciate any replies regarding this matter.

I don't know what you mean by "hurt me in the future." If you cannot pay your debts, you are not supposed to be giving expensive gifts to your children.

You probably should see a lawyer who can review your entire situation. Although normally a student loan is not dischargeable in bankruptcy (which means that you would have to pay it even after a bnakruptcy), there are some situations in which you can get out from under the loan.

See a lawyer. If you can't afford one, ask Legal Aid for help. Most bar associations also have a panel of lawyers willing to work for a reduced fee.

Good luck!
