Can I protect myself from endangering my job by having creditors call me at work

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act allows you to advise a creditor that you cannot accept personal calls at your work.

If you inform a debt collector that you are prohibited from receiving personal calls at work, or inform him that receiving these calls at work is inconvenient, then the debt collector must stop calling your place of employment.

If the debt collector continues to call, I suggest contacting an attorney that sues abusive debt collectors, such as myself.
