trouble for not paying

If I stop paying on a credit card bill for a card that I no longer have what can happen to me?

It will be reported on your credit report, most probably. Also, the balance may continue to accrue interest. Further, some companies, such as Discover Card, are actually suing their cardholders who default and are getting judgments against them.
