Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona

possesion of a gun
my friend picked his son up to go to court. He wanted to make sure his son was at court. When his son got in the car told his dad he had a gun, was trying to sell it for a friend. his dad was mad that he had a gun with him. told him he had enough time to get to court. but his son wanted to pick up some shoes, wanted to make sure he looked right when the judge saw him. as soon as they stopped at his sons friend house the police arrived. found the gun under the seat, charged my friend with carrying a gun, the car is register under my friends name. His been out of probation for over 2 1/2 years. is he going to jail for this. please help

No it is more likely that he will be sentenced to prison.
