Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

back child support

My ex gave up child support 7 years ago and we agreed that I would pay for college my Daughter is 21 and I have been paying for her school. My ex and I do not get along anymore and she keeps telling my daughter that I owe her thousands of dollars and that she is going to sue me.My Daughter is not doing well in school and I cannot afford to continue to pay all her expenses if she does not start doing better in school .I feel as though I am throwing my money away.Could my ex take me to court and what kind of chance would I have?My ex is sueing everyone so I know she will have no problem coming after me.Thanks

Re: back child support

The answer depends on (1) whether your ex would admit that she waived child support, or if not (2) what sort of formalities the two of you followed to effect this waiver.

I can explain the procedures and law better by phone or in person. There is too much to cover via e'mail (and I am not the greatest typist). We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss the matter in more detail. Please call me directly to discuss the specifics of your case, or contact my assistant Cathy to schedule a free 1/2 hour consultation. I look forward to talking with you.
