Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

ex not paying spousal support

Our divorce was final almost 2 years now. He was court ordered to pay spousal support for about 3 years. He has made 2-3 payments since the divorce. We have a good relationship and I really don't want to ruin it by going back to court. I was wondering why this is not being taken out of his wages like child support, and what I can do about getting my support owed.

Re: ex not paying spousal support

You can, very simply, lodge an Order of Assignment with the Court, or even just fax the Court a "New Employer Information Sheet". You can find forms and information for doing so here:

If you need further assistance, we can certainly help. I can explain the procedures better by phone or in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via e'mail.

We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss the matter in more detail.

As far as costs, please know that our fees vary depending on your circumstances and needs.

Please contact me via our website to discuss the specifics of your case, or to schedule a free 1/2 hour consultation.
