Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

I have been in a relationship for 15 yrs. The last two years I have been out of work. He has not really held a stable job but for maybe a couple yrs.

I want out but dont think i should leave with just debts from this relationship.

All the assets we do have is the house that he is making arangements to keep from getting forclosed on , a lexus, a camaro and about 4 Harley Davidsons ranging from 12,000 to 5,000, but its all in his name.

All I want is the 5,000 Harley Davidson to sell so I can have some kind of a start.

I live in Arizona. Is there some packet or self service forms i can get through the courts or would I need to hire a lawyer.

There are packets but if you are not married then there won't be a division of assets or debts through family court. YOu would have to file an action through civil court.

The Maricopa County Superior Court has a self service center at each courthouse and online.

If married, we can assist you to an "equitable division" of marital property.

If unmarried, the assets that have title would belong to the person whose name the asset is in. If you can prove a binding agreement as to the division of assets, you could pursue those claims through a breach of contrct action in civil court.

We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options.

One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.

Please call us directly to discuss the specifics of your matter, or contact my assistant Gina or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule your free 1/2 hour consultation.
