my friend came in u.s illegal by canada boder..he got married in u.s last january.so i want to know what is the leagl process to became legal

The answer to your question depends on several factors. Did he enter without inspection (i.e. crossing the border?). Did he marry a U.S. citizen or a green card holder or someone who has no legal status here? These factors are important,because they will determine his eligibility for obtaining any lawful status here.
